A Fine, Fun Music Video

Directly from the PCL Linkdump site, I quote:

"Way back the old days, before I was a contributor to this blog, (I remember that I used to picture Sebastian and P-E and Ange all in a room blogging away - like , y'know, PCL Central or something) I would send Sebastian my latest video, and generally he would post it, because of his excellent taste, mostly, and that encouraged me to stick with my own blog, GlyphJockey for 2 and a half years now. But now I work here too, so I'm gonna take a chance and post my latest work (2 minutes long, so don't worry): "GLAD" I hope you like it. If not, simply don't send in your monthly payment.

It's been a while since I've put together one of my vignette videos based on concepts that hit me......

I drive a 12 year old Pontiac convertible to my place of work, so I get quite the panoramic view. I was waiting for the light to change across from a storage complex, when I noticed how the end of Cream's "Glad" matched so beautifully with the tube man on top of the storage complex's roof as he waved his pneumatic arms and whipped his pneumatic head back in an unbridled expression of glee and air-filled pride.

I phonecammed a test with the stereo blasting, and then I knew I had to do it....."

Pathetic Sign of Where Divorce is Headed?

From a story on Local6 News in Orlando, Florida I'm sure the unintended consequence of this woman's actions are that a lot of men will know enough to stay away from her, saving them all a lot of time, grief and money.

A New York woman involved in a divorce battle spilled secrets about her husband, his family and their intimate life in a "scary, new step" in user generated content, attorneys said.

Tricia Walsh-Smith can be watched on YouTube lashing out at her husband, Broadway executive Philip Smith, in a teary and furious clip that has been viewed more than 150,000 times.

Local 6 reported that lawyers can't think of another case like Smith's and are calling it a "scary, new step."

Tax Day 2008

A re-take on an oldie-but-goodie:

DEAR INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE,

Enclosed you will find my 2007 tax return showing that I owe $3,407.00 in taxes.

Please note the attached article from the USA Today newspaper; dated 12 November, wherein you will see the Pentagon (Department of Defense) is paying $171.50 per hammer and NASA has paid $600.00 per toilet seat.

I am enclosing four (4) toilet seats (valued @ $2,400) and six (6) hammers (valued @ $1,029), which I secured at Home Depot, bringing my total remittance to $3,429.00.

Please apply the overpayment of $22.00 to the "Presidential Election Fund," as noted on my return.

You can do this inexpensively by sending them one (1) 1.5" Phillips Head screw (see aforementioned article from USA Today newspaper detailing how H.U.D. pays $22.00 each for 1.5" Phillips Head Screws).

One screw is enclosed for your convenience.

It has been a pleasure to pay my tax bill this year, and I look forward to paying it again next year.

Sincerely,

A Satisfied Taxpayer
