Funniest LinkedIn Comments

As many of you already know, I've been busy over the past 3 weeks beefing up my LinkedIn contact list. I just broke 100 contacts tonight from a stagnant 22 connections in January that hadn't changed much in years.

One of the guys I re-connected with is Gary K. down in the Bay area and in taking a closer look at his profile, I happened to catch this recommendation for one of his connections out of the corner of my eye:

So I decided to check his friend's reciprocal recommendation for him:

Jimmy Kimmel Responds to Sarah Silverman Video

In case some of you missed it a while back, Sarah Silverman shot a video that went viral online almost overnight. She's been dating Jimmy Kimmel and I'm sure it must be a riot any time you put two comedians together. I can take her humor or leave it but I've always enjoyed Kimmel's stunts with Adam Carolla on The Man Show. So last night, I'm sitting in bed working away with The Jimmy Kimmel Show on the TV and this new video makes its debut on his show. I was ROTBLMAO (rolling on the bed laughing my ass off).

Here's the original Sarah Silverman "I'm f*ckin' Matt Damon!"

And here's Jimmy Kimmel's response from last night, "F*ckin' Ben Affleck!" video.

And of course, Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are best friends. What an elaborate gag!

World's Fair Postcard Collection Online

I still have fond memories of the 1964 New York World's Fair and the Expo 67 held in Montreal. I was too young to have been able to get to the Fair in Seattle in 1962. But AlamedaInfo has posted a large collection of postcards from all three World's Fairs. I sure miss World's Fairs.

A Memorable Senior Moment

An impertinent university freshman took it upon himself to explain to a senior citizen standing next to him at a bus stop that it was impossible for older people to understand his generation.

"You grew up in a different world," the student said in a voice loud enough for the other passengers to hear, "actually, an almost primitive one."

The elderly man said nothing.

The student continued, "The young people of today grew up with televison, jet planes, space travel, man walking on the moon, our spaceships have visited Mars. We have nuclear energy, electric and hydrogen cars, computers with light-speed processing and.."

The student paused to take a breath and the senior took advantage of the break in the young man's litany and said, "You're quite right, son. We didn't have those things when we were young... so we invented them. Now, you arrogant little twerp, what are YOU doing for the next generation?"

The applause was resounding.

Sex Offender Registry from John Walsh

Family Watchdog is another mashup that allows you to type in your street and then see where your closest neighborhood sex offender is living. Brought to you by John Walsh.

The Psychic Dog

A Kansas farm wife called the local phone company to report her telephone failed to ring when her friends called and that on the few occasions, when it did ring, her dog always moaned right before the phone rang. The telephone repairman proceeded to the scene, curious to see this psychic dog or senile lady.

He climbed a telephone pole, hooked in his test set, and dialed the subscriber's house. The phone didn't ring right away, but then the dog moaned and the telephone began to ring. Climbing down from the pole, the telephone repairman found:

1. The dog was tied to the telephone system's ground wire with a steel chain and collar.

2. The wire connection to the ground rod was loose.

3. The dog was receiving 90 volts of signaling current when the number was called.

4. After a couple of jolts, the dog would start moaning and then urinate.

5. The wet ground would complete the circuit, thus causing the phone to ring.

Which demonstrates that some problems CAN be fixed by pissing and moaning.
